RIP Haas the Dutch Oreo

Haas came to us from a facebook post from the rabbit rescue in Mississippi. The rescue reached out to us saying they had a friend driving through Birmingham later that day and we volunteered to take him … about a year old and not neutered yet. The owner who turned him into the rescue told them he had been kept in an outside kennel.

I was out of town at the time, but J and K said he was full of energy and racing around our basement pen. But then he wasn’t as energetic and would get very still for what seemed like extended periods of time. We took him to the vet and started treating him for seizures, probably caused by parasites. We treated him for parasites, too, but he continued to get worse. The vet kept him overnight and took him home with her to give him IV fluids over night, but he died the next day at the vet clinic while they were still trying to treat him and figure out what was going on.

Spunky little guy, we will miss you!
